The Division of Pre-College and Undergraduate Programs is responsible for developing and offering non-credit and credit courses and programs for 6000 high school students, as well as Brown University undergraduate and Visiting Students from other institutions. Students participate in programs on Brown Universityâ™s Providence campus, as well as online and in other locations. Within the Division there are teams of staff who are responsible for marketing, admissions, enrollment, academic content, instructional delivery, student life, finance, human resources, payroll, and the various policies and protocols associated with this work. The staff works closely with colleagues from across the University to ensure success, including the Enrollment Division, Office of Information Technology (OIT), Office of University Communications, Division of Campus Life, and Facilities.
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Finance & Administration, the Director of Finance & Operations is a critical member of the Finance & Operations team. The Director manages the staff responsible for multiple critical tasks, including instructional program support, finance operations, seasonal hiring and building operations. The Director serves as HR Business Partner for seasonal positions and oversees the HR functions for all programs (700+ seasonal positions filled annually). The Director oversees day to day financial operations for the division including purchasing, expense reimbursements, supply ordering, purchasing card activity and contracts management. The Director ensures logistical support for programs, instructors, courses, and services offered through the division, providing opportunities to develop and improve processes, policies, and service.
The Director will support the Associate Dean, and other divisional staff to strategically plan for new initiatives (as both pilots, and sustained activities), future directions and long-term growth within the division.
The Director works closely with several University partners to ensure success in all programming and internal operations including but not limited to Human Resources, Controllerâ™s Office, Accounts Payable, Office of Financial Strategy & Planning, Dean of the Faculty, Facilities, Telecommunications, Academic Departments, Schools, Centers, and Institutes.
