We are hiring an Associate Director of Finance & Delivery that will report to the Head of Executive Strategy & Delivery who also functions as a âœChief of Staffâ. This individual will serve as the Instituteâ™s primary leader on financial management, tracking cash flows, providing budgetary guidance and analysis to the Director and Chief of Staff, and monitoring delivery requirements to our funders.Â

RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management Â
Develop budgets for grants, projects, and the Institute as a wholeÂ
Advise and support the entire Institute team in allocation of budgetary resources to accomplish goals and assess the instituteâ™s financial performance
Create agreements for grant subawards and independent contractors in collaboration with the Associate Director of Operations
Partner with project leaders, the Director, and the Head of Executive Strategy & Delivery on grants, including drafting the financial components of grant proposals, developing budgets, monitoring spend down, and submitting financial reports
Evaluate grant and donor letters for restrictions and revenue recognition and track the receipt, allocation, and expenditures of restricted and unrestricted donations
Coordinate across university systems and departments to manage budgets, make purchases, and pay invoices Â
Provide regular reports to ensure oversight and compliance with all university policies Â
Reconcile spending to create budget to actuals reportsÂ
Create reports on actual spending for internal and external constituencies, such as grant-makersÂ
Monitor relationships with vendors and contractors, working to ensure that they provide on-time, on-budget, high-quality products and services and are paid appropriately in collaboration with the Associate Director of Operations
Research and purchase goods and services needed by Institute personnelÂ
Collaborate with colleagues and other university departments, most especially but not limited to the Finance and Business Department and the Office of Research Support, who contribute to tasks above Institute Delivery
Monitor delivery requirements of all grant agreementsÂ
Regularly communicate with the Head of Executive Strategy & Delivery, Director, and project leads to ensure Institute are aware of upcoming delivery requirements
Work in collaboration with Institute personnel and other university departments to deliver reports to funders
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
At least 5 years of experience with grant tracking, managing donor restricted net assets, payroll management, and general business systems and functions.
Demonstrated success in developing, utilizing, and monitoring financial systems
Displays discretion and trustworthiness as the keeper of sensitive and confidential financial information
Ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity
Ability to adhere to University COVID-19 PolicyÂ
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a variety of workplace environments from higher education, nonprofit advocacy, research, and campaigns, and the ability to adapt
Knowledge of Workday or similar platforms is a plus
CPA and/or CRA is a bonus, similar education in business, accounting, research administration and finance desired

WORK MODE
This position is envisioned as an on-campus position; however, the Institute has many employees with various work modes.
On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely.
SALARY RANGE
$90,000 - $100,000 per annum, commensurate with experience
