The Senior Treasury Manager will be responsible for the liquidity, cash pool, and FX management for the Americas group. Reporting to the Treasurer Americas, this role will act as an in-house expert in maintaining and improving processes and functionalities related to the Treasury Management System (TMS).
The Senior Treasury Manager will be an established resource to the business finance community with respect to cash management best practices. In addition, the role will provide guidance on supplier finance and work with capital topics with the business finance community in Latin America and North America regions.
Key Job Accountabilities
Interest rate management
Responsible for working with BGs (Business Groups)/BU (Business Units) in the Americas on budgeting and forecasting interest expense with a focus of process automation and improving transparency
Detailed interest analysis and reconciliation
Identify and realize areas to improve the interest result, including maximizing interest income while safeguarding principal
Working capital management
Analyze, setup, maintain and enhance accounts receivable sales/factoring programs, and supply side financing/confirming/etc. programs
Analyze, setup, maintain and enhance reverse factoring programs
Actively work with Amcor’s banks to keep abreast of working capital management trends and present these trends to the businesses for supporting their needs
Advise and train internal counterparts on treasury accounting related matters (hedge accounting, working capital related transactions and other topics)
Ensure treasury entries are appropriately determined, reported, and processed
Continuously develop methods to improve reporting and analysis of cash and finance costs.
Assist in the development and enhancement of departmental reporting and analysis
Oversee all SOX testing requirements in the region
Manage the global FBAR process
Capital structure / Intercompany Loan Funding
Work with Tax to ensure entities have the right debt/equity mix.
Manage the structuring and servicing of intercompany debt and track the intercompany positions within our TMS
Systems and processes
Maintain and further enhance systems and processes within the region. including:
In-house administration of bank software solutions (eg. reverse factoring systems, etc)
Administration and maintenance of treasury software products (e.g. Reval) including implementing previously identified enhancement capabilities
Access and system knowledge on all other online banking tools
Participant in teamwide departmental projects
Banking, funding, and system reviews
Manage the regional cash forecast process including leading the business groups to improve accuracy and timing
Assist the shared service centers to minimize check payments
Assist in developing strategies for the repatriation of funds in an efficient manner
Coordinate to optimize transactional banking structure in each country, with pooling/netting capability, if possible, for each Business Group
Coordinate with the other Amcor treasury centers and implement an efficient use of global liquidity and establish systems to track the liquidity across the globe
Financial Risk Management
Work with BGs and BUs on identifying FX risk exposures and developing cost effective strategies to manage. Recommend strategies to manage FX risk.
Advise all BGs (in North and Latin America) on appropriate hedging strategies or pass-through mechanisms to mitigate the risk and minimize effects on the P&L
Implement standard exposure reporting across the region
Execute FX dealing with all ancillary tasks as needed
Advise the global risk management team on exposures not hedged within the region such as commodity and interest rate exposures
Knowledge and Relationship Management
To advance the profile of Amcor Global Treasury through enhancing knowledge and fostering working relationships. This includes:
Fostering relationships with internal personnel, including other Treasury and Global Finance & IT members, local commercial and finance personnel including regional CFOs and external personnel, including, banks, advisors, and auditors.
Continuous improvement of Amcor Global Treasury function and building its profile within Amcor through the provision of training and communications, systems developments and enhancements.
Develop and present ideas on how Global Treasury can assist Amcor achieving its ESG commitments
Proactively keeping abreast of the market to provide advice to Amcor entities, applying this knowledge to effectively implement sound processes and strategies
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, additional CFA or Tax certification is an advantage
8+ years of treasury, finance, and accounting experience in a corporate environment
7+ years in cash management, expert knowledge and experience with cash management principles, products, and services, and financial risk management
Experience with financial systems, advanced financial modeling and proficient Excel skills
Communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate in written and spoken English, as well as Spanish
A proven ability to leverage technology to automate and/or improve processes
The ability to travel throughout North and Latin America as needed
