Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Accounting and Finance Department welcomes applicants for a Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor position beginning August 2023.
Responsibilities may include teaching Managerial Finance, Cases in Finance, Investments, Financial Markets, Behavior Finance, and other finance courses in our Wealth Management concentration; as well as advising students, performing scholarly research, and department and university service. This person will be joining us at an exciting time for our growing college, with new majors, concentrations, and cocurricular initiatives being crafted. We especially value individuals who can lead our wealth management concentration and be a key advisor to the Marauder Fund. We also seek candidates that can display evidence of research with students or other high impact student engagement. Actual course assignments will depend on department needs and will include mixed modalities.
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications as well as aligned with the details contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (http://www.passhe.edu/inside/HR/LR/Pages/default.aspx) and the Millersville University Promotion Statement (http://www.millersville.edu/about/administration/policies/).
Minimum qualifications required to be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate include having an earned doctorate and a minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience (or its equivalent) and scholarship commensurate with this rank.

An earned doctoral degree or active doctoral candidate, with completion required to be eligible for reappointment to the third year.
A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in finance.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness in the field of finance (peer and student evaluations) spanning a minimum of two years.
A Statement of Teaching Philosophy.

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

PhD in finance.
Multiple relevant professional designations (ex: CFP, CFA).
Experience teaching both introductory and upper-level finance courses.
Evidence of current peer reviewed publications in business journals.
A demonstrated record of conducting research with students, consistent with Millersville's mission as a teaching university.
Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching across different modalities.
Significant relevant experience and accomplishments in the wealth management industry.
Major responsibilities include teaching major and/or non-major courses (lectures and/or labs) in finance as well as courses within his/her area of specialization in order to cover the faculty complement vacated by the prior faculty member.
Additional duties include but are not limited to developing a research program in finance that involves undergraduates, academic advisement, as well as assessment and accreditation activities.
Actual assignments will depend upon department needs.
