Essential Functions: The Mike Ilitch School of Business' Department of Finance is seeking to fill a Full-Time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Finance beginning in August 2023, preferably with teaching interest(s) in derivatives/international finance/banking.We have a supportive research environment with resources including WRDS, SAS, SPSS, STATA, CRSP, Compustat, SDC Platinum New Issues and M&A, SDC VentureXpert., ExecuComp, Audit Analytics etc. We have an accomplished faculty with publications in top journals, including Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial & Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, The Accounting Review, Journal of Empirical Finance, Harvard Business Review, Strategic Management Journal, etc. We have a finance lab with Bloomberg terminals. Additionally, there is a finance seminar series with speakers from elite universities in the US and abroad.The successful candidate is expected to: Teach face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online courses in the Finance undergraduate, MBA and Ph.D., programs. The normal teaching load for a research-active faculty member is 2/2.Actively participate in the Finance doctoral program.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Finance/Financial Economics is required. Ability to publish in leading Finance journals. Some previous teaching experience is desirable. The successful candidate is expected to interact and collaborate effectively with diverse groups of colleagues and students.
