The Finance and Purchasing Analyst will be part of a team responsible for providing high-level financial analyses and management to the Institutes faculty for their portfolios of sponsored awards. This person will manage a diverse portfolio of up to $5 million of research and related activities for 5 to 7 Faculty overseeing all aspects of post award activities and provide all necessary support to assigned RMS and GBC analysts for all pre-award activities. They serve as the faculty's single point of contact for research financial issues and ensures that faculty are provided with high quality, efficient, responsive, and responsible post-award research administration services. The fund portfolios include federal, state, city/county and private contracts and grants, donor and departmental funds that support research, training and public service. They will also be the primary manager of all Institute purchasing and reimbursement activities requiring an in-depth comprehensive knowledge of all UC purchasing rules, policies, and procedures as well as mastery of procurement systems.
Duties involve analyzing financial problems, formulating solutions and budgetary plans, processing and servicing of a variety of operational, personnel, and financial transactions and services; indentifying funding for payroll outlines, purchasing, recharge billing, travel / entertainment, gift accounting, data, analysis, review and reporting; overseeing and coordinating consulting, contractual, and vendor agreements; and managing reimbursement and purchasing activities.
