Position Summary:
The UCI Human Resources (HR) enterprise is comprised of three unique business units: Medical Center, Health Sciences, and Main Campus. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Business Services, the Finance Coordinator is responsible for a wide variety of financial, operational, and administrative functions. Using professional financial services concepts, processes financial transactions (reimbursements, POs, payments). Ensures that all transactions are policy compliant and include proper documentation and justification. Applies organization policies and procedures to resolve a variety of moderately complicated issues. Works on financial services problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Keeps leadership apprised of updates and improvements to existing policies and procedures that affect financial transaction processing. Additionally, provides administrative and operational support to the department as needed.
Compensation Range:
$25.57 - $35.30

Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. (Preferred)
Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures to define the problem or objective, identify relevant concerns or factors; formulate logical and objective conclusions and recognize alternatives and their applications. Solid skills in problem identification. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments when faced with a heavy workload and competing deadlines. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software. Demonstrated ability to act independently to solve problems and develop recommendations for approval Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making. Ability to function effectively as a member of a team. Demonstrated ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high-volume environment. Demonstrated ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
Preferred:
Strong knowledge of UCI's financial data management and reporting systems. Working knowledge of UCI's financial processes, policies and procedures. Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
Special Conditions Required:
This position may be required to report at different work sites between the campus in Irvine and medical center in Orange. The incumbent must be able to provide their own means of transportation to/from work locations Must pass a background check.
