Jackson Purchase Energy Cooperative (JPEC) is seeking a Vice President of Finance & Accounting to join our team. Ideal candidates must have strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and be dependable.

This position leads, directs, and supervises all finance functions including rate design, cost of service studies, load forecasts, financial forecasts, operating budgets, capital budgets, short- and long-term financing, and compliance with lender covenants and state and federal regulatory standards. Leads, directs, and supervises all billing functions including rate review, billing, collections, and deposits. Specifies and monitors the work of rate consultants, financial consultants, and accounting consultants. Cooperates with senior staff colleagues and the president and CEO to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Promotes good employee relations by providing assistance and using every opportunity and method for developing, understanding, communicating, accepting, and supporting the company’s objectives and programs.

Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. The job requires working at a desk, walking/ standing, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lifts and/or moves objects over 25 pounds. The employee is required to talk and hear as well as grip, grasp, feel, or twist using hands, fingers, or wrist regularly. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Required to operate a computer keyboard and mouse daily. Successful candidate must live within a 30-mile radius to JPEC or anywhere on the JPEC system, have a valid driver’s license, maintain good attendance/punctuality record, travel, and participate in designated training programs when necessary.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting required. 
• Master’s in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or other related area of study and/or Certified Public Accountant credential strongly preferred.
• Three to five years of experience in supervising the work of employees and outlining and monitoring the work of consultants, required.
• Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in managing the financial and accounting affairs of an entity with revenues of at least $25 million (preferably for an electric utility) preferred.
