The Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) Group provides investors with investment and advisory solutions, across leading hedge fund managers, private equity funds, real estate managers, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies. We offer shareholders differentiated exposure to a high-growth segment of the asset management industry through a diverse group of leading alternative investment firms.
Controllers Divisional Overview: Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. In the Controllers Department, our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm's business. Controllers also ensure that the firm's activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets. The fund controller team within the Controllers Group is looking to add an Associate in London.
These responsibilities include investment and new product review, oversight of information prepared by third party administrators and ongoing design an execution of the control environment. The team works closely with other areas of GSAM including investment, risk, client service, operations, technology, legal and compliance.
RESPONSIBILITES:
??? Coordinate annual land half yearly financial statement preparation with external administrators of the plc. alongside audit co-ordination
??? Support investor and regulatory reporting
??? Liaise with multiple teams within the Firm
??? Assist in the launch of new products
??? Support team, department, and business managers on various special projects
REQUIREMENTS:
??? B.S. or above in accounting or related field
??? 4+ years of experience
??? CPA / ACA. Chartered Accountant with PLC chapter 15 listing experience preferred
??? Experience with fund or company board reporting and audit liaison
??? Strong technical knowledge of accounting and financial reporting
??? Strong analytical/problem solving skills; detail orientated
??? Ability to work independently and as a key member of a team in a fast paced environment under challenging deadlines
??? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
??? Skilled in use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
