Description of Work:
The Finance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring finance transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines. The Finance Coordinator primarily executes routine and moderately complex finance transactions, standard contracts, accounts payable, individual journal entries and internal charges, batch journal entries and internal charges. They will also provide guidance for sole source justification purchases, provide financial review and approval of travel expenses, basic funds management and payroll setup and reporting. The Finance Coordinator will work closely with employees within the departments served, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions. This position functions under general supervision and is expected to utilize technology to provide professional services.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in business, accounting or related field plus 2 years of accounting experience; equivalent education/experience considered. Accounting knowledge; ability to use computerized accounting systems effectively; ability to use personal computers for spreadsheets, word processing and databases required. Budgeting experience. Experience in monitoring and reconciling funds. Working knowledge of accounting practices, budgeting and/or reporting. PC-based word processing and spreadsheet software program skills. Ability to manage several simultaneous projects while meeting prescribed timelines. Strong problem-solving/decision-making, planning/organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field plus three (3) years' of accounting experience required; equivalent education/experience will be considered.. Experience working higher education, SAP and ALMA or integrated finance system. Microsoft Office, with expertise in Excel. SAP knowledge preferred.
Posted Salary: $20.515/hr minimum
