Finance is responsible for financial oversight, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, reporting and compliance. The team supports capital planning, projects, and strategic use of funds. Strategic partners to the organization's leadership and operational line management in the development of new programs and services. Provide financial guidance for statutory, Contract College, general purpose, enterprise, designated and gift and endowment funds and accounting issues. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the financials. We work collaboratively with the division of financial affairs, planning and budget and partners across campus.

Position Summary:
Facilities Finance & Administration is a close-knit team supporting the overall divisional operations and is responsible for financial oversight, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting. The successful candidate will join a team environment with staff who take great pride in supporting Cornell University's mission of Teaching, Research, and Outreach. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, provide financial planning, analysis, and forecasting for facilities management. Provide financial management for the trades maintenance and corrective and preventative maintenance accounts. Multiple sources of funding and cost recovery methodologies are associated with this service.
This position will work closely with the unit directors and managers to prepare monthly forecasting and quarterly / annual financial reporting for review by Associate Director of Budget. Act as the primary department resource. Key point of contact for financial information and expertise for units supported. Accountable for the financial integrity of the financial statements ensuring adherence to University Policy and procedures. Responsible for the detailed budget development for units supported and billing rate calculation and development including internal overhead cost recovery. Calculate and prepare headcount reports on a monthly basis.
Collaborate with team members on presentations for units supported. Reports prepared may be used in support of executive decisions or strategy development. Support audits for units supported. Interpret University financial policies and procedures to provide guidance to team members. Develop models for unit needs such as long-range forecasting. Prepare and analyze financial reports and trends to support management in achieving operating objectives. Recommend tools to assist in department reporting and metric processing. Provide data analysis to inform decision making. Participate in streamlining efforts to improve service delivery and increase automation of financial reporting.
Prepare and analyze trade billing activity reports for productivity and cost recovery impact.
This position develops and maintains professional working relationships with other Cornell departments. This includes, but is not limited to, the Division of Financial Affairs, the Division of Planning and Budget, and the University Business Service Center (UBSC).

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of an associate degree and two or more years' experience or a bachelor's degree.
Ability to perform appropriate data analysis, budget and forecasting, and general ledger reconciliations.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and the ability to work in a team environment are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance strongly preferred in addition to two to three years of in-depth analytical, forecasting, and budget experience.
Training in financial management and cost accounting principles or equivalent experience desired.
Computer software proficiency and expertise, proficient in the use of MS Office Suite with a strong emphasis in Excel.
Knowledge of Cornell policies, on-line accounting systems (Kuali), and OBIEE Answers experience.
