School of Continuing Studies (SCS) offers graduate programs in professional and liberal studies, more than 30 professional certificate programs, custom and corporate training and education, summer school and special programs, and a part-time bachelor's program.
The
Assistant Director of Finance, Non-Degree Programs is the financial lead for all of the non-degree programs and manages all aspects of the financial preparation, execution, and reconciliation of the non-degree programs. They work with program representatives from each non-degree unit to ensure the successful delivery of all programs by ensuring timely contracting with all vendors, accurate and complete payments to vendors and faculty and staff guest speakers, receipt of all third-party payments, and timely ordering of all necessary supplies. The Assistant Director provides guidance to the non-degree units on agreements and partnerships, both existing and proposed, from a financial perspective.
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Summer and Special Programs, the
Assistant Director of Finance, Non-Degree Programs has duties that include but are not limited to:
- Plans and prepares for all non-degree programs from a financial perspective, including overseeing all budget projections and reconciliations on a monthly basis, managing all vendor contracts from start to finish in a timely manner, liaising with campus and external partners to ensure program readiness, and managing any grants
- Manages financial reconciliations for all non-degree programs, including payroll and non-payroll expenses, grants, budget to actual reporting, year-end projections, and future year projections based on current enrollments and forecasted enrollment trends provided by academic units
- Serves as the financial lead for all non-degree programs and provides guidance on existing and potential partnerships, including revenue share agreements, revenue generating agreements, and third party relationships
- Coordinates the purchase of all office and program supplies for all non-degree programs, ensuring all purchases are within the approved budget
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree
- Significant program management experience in higher education, experience with housing, auxiliary services, vendor negotiations, accounting or finance
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and Google docs
Preferred qualifications- Knowledge of Georgetown Management System (Workday)
- Project Management experience and skills
Work Mode: Please note that this position is telework eligible in the months September through March, but must maintain a hybrid schedule of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office located on Main Campus in the months April through August.
