Job Description
The Finance Manager for GSMHQ, coordinates the global activities for GSM while providing business partner support for select global functions within GSM. The position works closely with the Regional, BU Corporate and GA&I FP&A leadership while reporting into the Finance VP for GSM.
GSM Global Planning and Performance - The GSMHQ Finance Manager coordinates all GSM forecasting, planning, and reporting activities with the support of GA&I. The role liaises with Corporate FP&A in managing FP&A calendars and deliverables, and is GSM's voice on EPM planning process issues. The Manager is responsible for communicating targets and ensuring AOP and forecasts are loaded accurately and timely. The role also oversees the consolidation of monthly performance reporting for GSM (GSMHQ "Flash" and Outlook) and provides GSM leadership with causals and commentary on topline and spend performance. The role is expected to anticipate and follow up with the regions and functions on significant variances and to provide a complete picture of GSM financial performance. It also maintains history on large one-time items in spending, ongoing target adjustments within and outside of GSM, and ensures the accuracy of targets provided by Corporate.
GSMHQ support - The GSMHQ Finance Manager provides analytical and business partner support to GSM leadership. This includes an assessment of the risk and opportunity in the quarter and ready explanations for key variances. The role also assists in finding, tracking, and managing the sources and uses of the GSMHQ investment pool which is a critical mechanism for ensuring GSM spending is focused on the most strategic priorities. It also addresses ad hoc questions and related analyses on trends on topline or cost across GSM.
Quarterly Performance Reviews - GSMHQ Manager will be responsible for preparing the Global QPR deck and prep the SVP GSM and VP Finance for the QPR presentation. This entails working with others in the GSMHQ and GA&I FP&A team to provide appropriate analyses for the presentation and script for the presentation
Global based projects/initiatives support - The manager will be responsible to support ad-hoc global GSM projects like Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) Analysis and Global Real Estate Strategy and In addition, the manager will drive the targeting setting and performance reviews of key initiatives and acquisitions by partnering with Commercial Operations
GSM Global Function Business Partner - The GSMHQ Consolidation Manager will also serve as primary business partner to leader(s) of certain of the GSM global functions which include Marketing, Market Access, Global Commercial Operations and Portfolio Engineering. This includes providing financial review of proposed investments, helping prioritize spending, explaining overall financial performance, building and analyzing strategic business cases and organizational support.
Ideal candidates will have proven business partnering skills, be process-focused, drive accountability, and have demonstrated aptitude with Rockwell's financial systems and tools and are comfortable navigating its matrixed organization. They are motivated self-starters who are looking for growth and leadership opportunities with a proven ability to learn and contribute.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; MBA preferred.
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of previous finance management or other related business management experience.
- Adept at leveraging RA systems and desktop apps (including SAP, Oracle EPM, Power BI) to "drill down" to resolve complex issues.
- Persuasive and diplomatic temperament to deliver and explain challenging targets to business.
- Demonstrated ability to express complex ideas in simple terms, present results, and translate systems and financial terminology to various levels of management.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects with varying deadlines.
- Strong project leadership and organizational skills.
- This position can be located in any RA location globally but requires participation in meetings during US work hours.
