POSITION: Financial Analyst
Director of Finance
LOCATION: Remote considered; Preference given to applicants located near one of Candid’s offices in New York, NY; Washington D.C.; Cleveland, OH; Atlanta, GA; or Williamsburg, VA)
This newly created position reports into the Director of Finance and will provide dedicated FP&A coverage to the organization. This position will support budgeting and forecasting, reporting and analysis, and sill be responsible for the corporate planning system maintenance. The Financial Analyst will: track Candid’s financial performance against budget and forecast; prepare management reporting for finance leadership and senior management review; analyze monthly variances to provide insight into operating business changes.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Support the Director of Finance with the annual budget and the financial forecast process and related analyses.
Develop and maintain the system as well as budget and forecast supporting documents and reports.
Support departmental budgeting and forecasting meetings.
Under the direction of the Director of Finance, work with finance and operations to implement process improvements.
Reporting and Analysis
Produce periodic (monthly and quarterly) financial and headcount reports.
Report and provide in-depth analysis including monthly Actuals vs Forecast/Budget, Risks and Opportunities, variance analysis and help update monthly financial reporting package to Senior Management.
Develop and maintain required financial models.
Coordinate with finance and departments across the organization to identify, develop, and maintain new KPIs and reporting analyses.
Responsible for maintaining Candid’s budgeting, forecasting and reporting system (Planning and Budgeting Cloud System, “PBCS”). This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Loading and reconciling actuals.
Preparing monthly and quarterly forecasts.
Preparing budget for each round of the planning process.
Ensuring the system is up to date with correct mapping of GL accounts, project codes, vendors and people.
Work with accounting staff and department managers to obtain and resolve variances to the forecast and budget.
Prepare regular and ad hoc reports as well as build appropriate financial models, and participate in discussions with department managers.
Under the direction of the Director of Finance, implement approved process improvements, documenting those procedures.
Special projects as directed by Director and VP of Finance.

Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably with a major in Finance or Accounting.
5-7 years’ experience in a financial planning and analysis function.
Strong understanding of P&L, accounting and finance principles for budget planning and analysis and in reconciling data discrepancies
Knowledge of accounting standards and practices.
In-depth experience in building business decision models.
Exceptional Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) including advanced Excel skills required.
Experience with financial and BI systems: ERP (Netsuite or similar), Reporting (PBCS or similar), BI (Tableau or similar).
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with can-do approach and ownership.
Highly detail oriented and organized with a very strong attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with solid presentation skills.
Project management skills to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to efficiently work with business unit operating managers and senior leadership in a highly complex, matrixed environment.
Willingness to perform other duties and special projects as needed/requested.
