As a member of the IT senior management team this position serves as the finance business partner to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and IT directors and managers:
Provides advice, support and value-added financial analyses to IT with regard to NRECA's IT capital and operating budgets.
Collaborates with the CIO and his team in planning, developing and monitoring the IT operating and capital budgets.
Develops pricing models for IT capital investments that analyze the impact of different strategic initiatives and options.
Prepares monthly financial and analytical reports at the department, cost center and project level and provides the CIO and his team with analytics related to operational performance against plans and provides advice to improve financial results.
Uses financial analysis concepts, methodologies and systems to identify positive and negative trends and predict outcomes.
Provides expert advice regarding generally accepted accounting principles and ensures IT costs are properly recorded.
Consults with IT directors and managers to forecast IT operating and capital costs to help ensure budget targets are met.

Formal Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
10+ years progressive accounting or financial planning and analysis experience.
5 years comprehensive in the role of an IT Controller, providing financial and budget advice to senior management, for a large IT department or other technology/project centric department or company.
Experience leading cross functional teams in support of providing the financial analytical and counseling services required of this job.
Experience with developing advanced financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft and/or Adaptive Planning products including Microsoft Reporting tools is required.
Experience utilizing a cloud based FinOps solution like Cloudability, Cloudcheckr, AWS Cost Explorer or similar cost management solution.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required(as demonstrated by prior work experience):
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their application.
Knowledge of organizational objectives, business strategy, hardware/software technology and IT financial strategies.
Ability to create financial models, forecast business performance, and assimilate this information into cogent reports for the CIO and senior management team, NRECA's Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
Ability to be persuasive, negotiate, and collaborate with individuals at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
Ability to lead highly visible multidisciplinary project/program teams or initiatives and provide leadership as the authority in a specialized field.
Ability to manage competing deadlines and work on multiple tasks while being flexible and able to cope with changing conditions/policies/procedures in a fast-paced and sometimes intense working environment, while staying productive and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Ability to synthesize financial and operating data into clear, easily understandable reports as well as effectively communicating information, both verbally and in writing, to a diverse audience.
Ability to define issues impacting business operations, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and develop options to resolve the issues.
Ability to analyze large amounts of information and data to get an accurate read on business performance, including historic and current trends, drawing conclusions and presenting the pertinent information in a clear and concise manner.
Essential Physical Requirements :
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
