Support the Executive Administrator in coordinating and directing broad and complex financial and management functions for the Department in support of teaching, medical research and clinical care.
Support the further development and execution of high level continuing medical education efforts across the Department.
Develop and foster a keen understanding, build relationships and business alliances in an assertive manner and exploit the Department's competitive advantages in the marketplace through unique, inter-departmental and inter-organizational relationships.
Develop, implement and foster the organizations diversity initiatives and strategy to attract, hire, and maintain a diverse workplace.
Through the business development and strategic planning functions, provide sound leadership for the Department of Medicine's growth initiatives across the Chicago metropolitan area and multi-state geographies.
Influence the development of system-wide growth, learning and work collaboratively with finance, operations and medical leadership from all sections and including the Departmental Vice Chairs.
Bring forward innovative ideas and initiatives to help encourage a vibrant spirit of innovation throughout the Department.

Provides leadership to managers and professional staff within a department to support teaching, medical research and clinical care. Facilitates research initiatives of the faculty and staff.

Advanced degree in business, healthcare administration or related field.
Experience with revenue cycle for hospital and professional fee billing.Â
Directly related financial and budget development experience in a complex environment.
Experience working in a fiscally responsible, highly regulated business setting that regularly employs benchmarking.
Proficient mathematical and analytical skills including data sets and data aggregation.
Knowledge of research funding and appreciation for working in a research-intensive academic culture. Â
