For more than 67 years, the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles (The Foundation) has helped individuals, institutions and professional advisors have the greatest possible impact on both the Jewish community and the community at large. The Foundation currently manages more than $1.4 billion of assets entrusted to it by over 1,300 families and ranks among the 10 largest Los Angeles foundations. In 2020, The Foundation and its donors distributed $116 million in grants to nearly 3,000 nonprofits with programs that span the range of philanthropic giving.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President of Finance directs the management, reporting, and record-keeping of the financial activities of The Foundation, including overseeing accounting systems, processes, and controls. The Vice President of Finance supervises and leads the accounting team of six and office management, including three direct reports. The successful candidate will be an accounting professional with a strong track record of timely and accurate management of the accounting operations of complex organizations.
The Vice President of Finance will be a seasoned leader with at least ten years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferably within a dynamic nonprofit organization. The Vice President of Finance will be a strategic thinker, a results-oriented professional, and an outstanding interpersonal communicator. A bachelor’s degree preferably in accounting or a related field is required. An advanced degree and/or CPA is strongly preferred. The salary range is $200,000 to $230,000 based on experience. Relocation assistance, if needed, is negotiable.
