As a security first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. This position is expected to participate and provide support for the financial applications for the University of California Office of the President (UCOP), including support for General Ledger, Procurement, and other Financial Management functions. The responsibility also includes UC systemwide support for UC's financial consolidation and reporting.
The Finance Applications Team provides research, design, development, and support services for the Finance applications. This position is in the Finance Applications group within the Technology Delivery Services (TDS) department. The incumbent will work closely with campus locations, business partners, vendors, Project Team and other technology professionals.
The Information Systems Analyst 3 has prior experience to develop solutions that leverage existing cloud frameworks, such as AWS and MuleSoft. The incumbent must understand and effectively handle the integrations between many boundary systems and Oracle Ledger, and they will also handle the AWS Financial Data Warehouse, including the analysis, design, development/modification/enhancement, implementation, and troubleshooting, monitoring, performance improvement and administration functions.
Designs, develops, modifies, debugs, deploys and evaluates complex software and scripts. Develop loosely coupled object-oriented solutions that are highly testable, modularized, and reusable. Develop solutions that leverage existing enterprise cloud frameworks such as AWS, MuleSoft, etc.; align with the overall enterprise cloud architecture and vision; and be compliant with the established coding standards and other development principles. Work with multiple stakeholders to develop solutions against the departmental roadmap. Mentor team members who are less experienced.
Creates technical design documents, test plans for applications developed, prepare time estimates, develop conversion and/or integration plans as well as system implementation plans. Review and prepare flow-charting and data analysis for existing applications for potential inclusion into an existing application framework and/or building out a new application framework that could be utilized by several applications.
Identifies, evaluates and develops complex systems, processes and procedures. Develops complex user interface designs. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system and process logic issues as necessary. Documents intricate software and processes. Creates project plans.
Collaborate with core team members, subject matter experts and business partners. Proactively engages other ITS teams in cross-functional efforts. Openly shares plans and strives to prevent surprises within and across the organization. Communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner. Understands and communicates with business partners in business terms and uses this understanding to assure the business partner's understanding of work status, risks, issues and proposals.
Highly proficient with Node JS and Python.
Deep experience with AWS services: CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, Athena and QuickSight.
Knowledgeable in SQL and DDL in SQLServer, DB2, and Postgres platforms. Experience Implementing stored procedures and effectively writing advanced queries.
Experience with MuleSoft platform including AnyPoint, designing and deploying APIs.
Ability to perform source code management and application build and deployment using tools like Git, Maven, Shell scripts and cloud-based build and deployment pipelines (CICD).
Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms and translate complex business rules into technical designs.
Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent/related functions.
Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
Experience in cross platform solutions which utilize a variety of technologies and experience in identifying and documenting the best technical solution for each business requirement.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
At least 5 years of experience in IT, with a focus on Java development.
Fully remote, U.S. based candidates will be considered
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary: $96,600 - 122,000 annually, commensurate with skills/experience.
