The KCTCS Foundation, Inc. serves as the independently recognized private foundation delegated with responsibility, to solicit and manage funds that benefit KCTCS students, faculty, and staff. This position is responsible for maintaining all financial records for the KCTCS Foundation, Inc. and for assisting with the annual external audit.
The position also assists all KCTCS colleges by serving as a system-wide resource for ensuring the accuracy of recording gifts and pledges based on interpretation of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) standards, Internal Revenue requirements, Council for Aid to Education (CAE) and internal policies and procedures for receiving, processing, and recording gifts.
Serves as primary Help Desk resource for all college advancement staff on issues related to recording, receiving, and receipting all gifts and pledges. Identifies data entry errors, makes recommendations on corrections, and adjust records to ensure accuracy system-wide.
Maintains financial records for the KCTCS Foundation, Inc. using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and QuickBooks; prepare financial statements and preparation of documents for audit and the IRS 990; serve as liaison to the KCTCS Foundation, Inc. Finance/Audit Committee which includes additional accounting for the Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Foundation through a Memorandum of Understanding with the KCTCS Foundation, Inc.
Ensures that KCTCS policy, procedures, and official records comply with the standards for charitable gifts of the IRS, CASE, and CAE; interprets and implement policies and development procedures for the receiving processing and recording of private gifts in the Raiser's Edge Database for the colleges, KCTCS Foundation, and recognized college foundations
Generates reports for KCTCS Business Services, CAE, the KCTCS colleges and their recognized foundations for auditing purposes
Establishes new gifts and endowment accounts and new designations Systemwide
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degrees and four (4) years' experience or equivalent
Field of study: Accounting, Finance or related
Master's degree and five years' experience or equivalent
CPA, CFP or CFA
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and/or fundraising/donor management software, i.e., Raiser's Edge.
KY law requires state and national pre-employment background checks as a condition of employment.
