Meet Calvary Church & School:
Calvary Church was founded in 1948 with the dream of becoming a "Lighthouse for the Gospel" in Pacific Palisades and West Los Angeles. For 73 years God has been faithful to us, building strong foundations for future growth. We honor our legacy and are leaning into our future. We are a growing, multi-generational community with roots that go deep in the culture of Los Angeles. Our spiritual family is diverse, we are singles and families, young and old, creatives and corporate leaders who have found the grace of Jesus to be enough. We stand united behind our vision, To be a community following Jesus for the renewal of our city.
Calvary is an independent Church and does not belong to a denomination or fellowship of Churches. Through the radical generosity of God, we have been blessed with an amazing, 8-acre campus with a 700 seat sanctuary. There are over 70,000 sq feet of classrooms, an athletic field, and a multi-purpose gym. We are the home to Calvary Christian School, one of West LA’s premiere Preschool-8th grade schools and a vital ministry of Calvary Church.
Our mission, to Encounter God, Live Connected, Practice Formation, and Change our World informs everything we do at Calvary. From our weekly Worship Gatherings to every Ministry and School event, we want Jesus to be the lead story at Calvary Church and School. At the end of the day, our desire is that people would meet Jesus and live into the abundant life He alone provides.
Calvary Church founded Calvary Christian School as a preschool in 1963. It has grown to become the second-largest private school on the Westside of Los Angeles. Nestled in the beautiful canyons of Pacific Palisades on a seven-acre site with scenic vistas, the school is a retreat from the hustle and bustle of life on the Westside of Los Angeles.
Calvary Christian School provides an exemplary high school preparatory education for preschool through eighth-grade students in a Christian day school environment. Calvary attracts families who seek an educational experience for their children that combines rigorous academic preparation with activities, athletics, and an emphasis on Christian moral and ethical development. Calvary's program is designed to provide opportunities for each student to develop to his or her fullest potential, academically, physically, and spiritually. The goal of the school is to develop leaders with a Christian worldview who integrate their faith into their daily lives.

What it's Like to Live in Pacific Palisades, California:
Located in Pacific Palisades, Calvary is conveniently close to Malibu, Santa Monica, and the City of Los Angeles. Calvary Church and School share a campus just a few hundred yards from the Pacific Ocean. The Palisades is one of the most desirable communities in Los Angeles, we have a small town, family-oriented feel with well-connected neighborhoods. Although we are a distinct community, we are only 3 miles north of Santa Monica with easy access to Dodger games, concerts, amazing restaurants, museums, cultural attractions, and major airports.
We are also home to the newly designed Palisades Village outdoor walking mall and hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails in Topanga State Park which are easily accessible from town. If surfing, swimming, or just relaxing at the beach is your thing, Will Rogers State Beach is a short walk or drive from anywhere in town.
The Westside of Los Angeles is a densely populated, fast-paced region. The beauty, weather, and coastal life are a huge draw, and major benefits to living in this area. There is a rich history to many of the neighborhoods, and while some households have been in the area for decades, there is also a great deal of relocation from other parts of the U.S. and the world. There is a deep appreciation for the outdoors, with beaches, mountains, and trails aplenty. There is easy accessibility to restaurants and shopping in neighboring cities, as well as culturally diverse entertainment and educational resources (museums, etc). The general population is highly educated and professionally successful.
At the same time, we are close enough to the city of LA, the Valley, and many other wonderful towns that many of our Staff live nearby and drive into the Palisades daily for work. The commute times are minimal compared to most of the traffic nightmares of LA as often major freeways can be avoided. At the end of the day, LA is one of America's true “Global Cities” that is creating, influencing, and shaping culture. There can be challenges to living in a place that is very affluent, well educated, innovative, and progressive. At the same time, we believe God calls us to these very places to live on Mission with Him for the spiritual, social, and cultural renewal of the city.
Your mission drives our mission. What started as an idea at our founder's dining room table is now a company that serves teams with a greater purpose around the globe by aligning their people solutions.
Hire the right people. Pay them well. Plan for the future. Build a culture that lasts.
