SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, Sloan School of Management-Economics, Finance and Accounting (EF&A), to provide high-level faculty and administrative support--under the supervision of the senior associate director--for multiple programs and projects in Sloan's academic areas. Will synthesize, evaluate, and communicate clearly, with an eye toward efficiency; use in-depth knowledge of MIT and other departments to anticipate and initiate actions regarding office operations; interpret and resolve highly varied situations and problems; and support the mission of the Sloan academic areas. Responsibilities will include providing course support to faculty; purchasing supplies, equipment, memberships, etc.; calendar management; composing and editing correspondence and other documents; attending meetings; performing liaison duties; handling a variety of financial duties, e.g., completing requests for payment, reconciling accounts, working with vendors, arranging reimbursements, monitoring credit card charges, etc.; coordinating a range of high-profile events; website oversight; database maintenance; and a variety of other duties.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years' administrative, office, or related experience; ability to develop a thorough understanding of own work and work unit and how it impacts operations across the area and outside own work unit; advanced-level computer software skill and ability to identify and learn new programs and software and easily negotiate internet and perform complex searches; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills for representing the work area and the larger MIT community.
