Position Summary
This position oversees the ongoing implementation and management of all Workday systems for Arts & Sciences, with an emphasis on resolving and maintaining workflow, security assignments, structure analysis, and data integrity. Special focus on reporting output and meeting operational needs. Works closely with Associate Dean of Finance and Administration, Director of Budgeting and Accounting, Director of A&S Data Analysis, Assistant Dean of Faculty Affairs and Administration, and Manager of HR and Payroll Operations (initial Workday implementation for HCM and FIN was 7/1/21; Student implementation is in the works).
Job Description
The work is normally performed in the offices located across campus. There will be activities that require trips to many University offices and offsite locations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Planning
- Builds effective working relationships with all department stakeholders and team members involved in the program; relies on extensive knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals. Develops and communicates program objectives, goals, responsibilities, expectations, risks and feedback with all parties in a timely manner.
- Full participating member of workday advisory committee.
- Provides consulting to all stakeholders regarding requirements management working with Project Management Performs current state analysis and/or root cause analysis as required.
Business Continuity
- Analyze operational needs and processes to ensure the design and maintenance of proper organizations and structures for business continuity. Advise on the fulfillment and management of processes and structures. Audit and correct.
- Ensure A&S organization and planning fit the functional and security parameters of the system.
- Coordinate and maintain hierarchies, organizations, security and workflow for A&S.
Systems Support
- Workday subject matter expert: develop knowledge base to provide high level, in-house support on systems functions and utilization.
- Work with central administration (including Accounting/Finance, HR, IT, Research) in providing support to A&S that goes beyond current service now process shortfalls - identification and resolution of systemic errors and flaws.
- Ensure and evaluate the long-term performance of the solutions to operational and system problems.
- Provide Workday process assistance with complex issues and configuration for overall support or enhancements, including preparation A&S operations for semi-annual updates.
Data and Reporting
- Implement strategies for gathering, reviewing and analyzing data and reporting requirements and enhancements. Ensure compliance with data governance policies and processes and recommend changes and additions to those policies and processes.
- Perform data quality and compliance audits; enforce data continuity and consistency through training and audits.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis Certification (PMI-PBA).
- Business education.
- ITIL framework and IT product methodologies.
- Familiarity with testing techniques and software.
- Prior experience in higher education environments a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in project management and analysis, negotiation, systems analysis, leadership and team building, client relationship management, process improvement, strategic planning, organization change management.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities such as conflict/issue resolution.
- Ability to organize and work effectively in a matrix organization with cross-functional project teams from various departments and locations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new circumstances.
- Demonstrated understanding of client relationship management, process mapping and improvement, project management, and production support.
- Ability to adjust to changes in priorities and demands on time.
- Demonstrated ability to manage environments and leadership using metrics.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Proven ability to creatively solve problems and to influence outcomes through persuasion, effective communications and relationship building.
- Experience working closely with team members during solution development and product launch.
- Experience developing use cases.
- Experience developing data and process flows
- Able to work proactively with minimal supervision.

- Proven ability to provide business analysis for project teams to meet customer expectations.
- Demonstrated understanding of business analyst tools and techniques; demonstrated proficiency using MS Office and Visio tools.

- Prior experience in a higher education technology environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelorâ™s degree in computer science, information technology or comparable discipline plus 6 years of relevant experience analyzing business processes and data or equivalent combination of experience, certification and education.

Salary Range
$75,400.00 - $132,800.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
