The Executive Director (ED) of the Master of Science in Mathematical Finance and Financial Technology (MSMFT) program is a quantitative finance specialist with dual knowledge of the academics and industry of quantitative finance. They leverage this knowledge to set strategies for admissions, student recruitment, and student career outcomes. This involves deciding where and how to prospect for MSMFT program applicants as well as identifying expanding markets for graduating students. They serve as an informed bridge between the academic program and the world of practice, enabling trusted and credible relationships that yield student internships and placement and build brand equity in the program.
The ED reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Graduate Programs. They also work closely with the MSMFT Faculty Director (FD) and the Questrom Admissions staff attached to the MSMFT program. The Associate Director, Industry Outreach of the MSMFT program reports to the ED. The ED is a member of the MSMFT Program Development Committee (PDC). The ED (together with the Faculty Director) represents the MSMFT program and the Math Finance PDC in Questrom leadership discussions.
The ED engages activity in five contribution areas as follows and in order of importance and time spent.
Industry outreach and development of job opportunities, in collaboration with the MSMFT Associate Director
MSMFT admissions and student recruitment, in collaboration with the Questrom Admissions staff
Student performance and experience, assisted by the Specialty Masters Center staff
Curricular development in collaboration with the faculty director
Program administration, operations, and strategy
Measures of Success Measurable end goals consider:
(1) quality and size of the applicant and admissions pool; (2) opportunities for internship and jobs; (2) the health and vitality of the MSMFT student community.
Diversification of applicant pool to include new geographic and demographic growth targets
Successful recruitment of qualified pool of students aEURC/Scope of identified opportunities for student internships and jobs
Student satisfaction with the MSMFT Program and its faculty leadership
Ongoing, active involvement of the Executive Director through advising and engagement in student- and Questrom-led events
Obtain maximum student internship / summer project and full-time career outcomes
Continue collaboration with other Financial Engineering executive directors on placement data reporting

Master's degree required; PhD preferred. Quantitative finance background required. Financial industry experience required. International business experience preferred. Higher education experience preferred. 8+ years of relevant experience necessary.
