Position Summary: Responsible for analyzing, maintaining, and implementing financial systems and operating processes for the Finance Operations Team which is comprised of the following units: Accounts Payable, Benefit Payments, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll. Accountable for reviewing for effective and efficient processes, ensuring complete documentation of current procedures, and leading and/or implementing new technology/technology enhancement/problem solving solutions for better functionality. Functions on and supports the Finance Operations Management Team.
Serves as Business Lead and/or Implementer of software upgrades and enhancements that impact these units related to the following systems: Oracle, ReadSoft, netFORUM, OmniPay, ADP, and e-business applications deployed on NRECA Employee Benefit Website (NEB). Trains to stay relevant and knowledgable in the systems and applies understanding of the systems and business processes to recommends enhancements to automation and efficiencies. Leads project teams comprised of business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and IT SMEs to identify, resolve, design and implement corrected or enhanced functionality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Systems Analysis and Implementation Responsibilities * Functions as business lead on implementation for new technology/technology enhancement/problem solving solutions for better functionality in partnership with the unit's direct manager if applicable. * Leads efforts between business and ERP support for system issues and enhancement requests including problem solving and resolving issues as well as design and implementation of new enhancements. * Functions as Business Lead to support Finance Operations overall on the new ERP system implementation. * Leads systems updates/patching initiatives by coordinating resources, creating/influencing schedule, and monitoring completion. * Maintains data integrations between systems. * Maintains workflows and approval hierarchies within the systems.
Process Analysis and Implementation Responsibilities * Maintains inventory of SOPs ensuring consistency and coordinate annual review/updates. * Monitors and coordinates external and internal training presentations or opportunities related to systems or industry knowledge - to include new employee onboarding process. * Functions as the Finance Document Retention Custodian ensuring an annual review and documentation of updates. * Leads annual review process of all Financial policies facilitating updates or creating new policies as needed. * Manages the creation of and leads annual review of Finance Operations Pandemic Plans making recommendations to mitigate risk, ensuring documentation consistency through the units, and leading changes as systems and processes change. * Monitors and updates forms and instructions on NRECANow ensuring accuracy of information. * Maintains the master list of general ledger reconciliations completed within Finance Operations and lead analysis and solution for complex reconciliations as needed.
Special Projects Responsibilities * Leads/manages special projects as assigned by the Director, Finance Operations and SVP, Finance.

Formal Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Finance/Business Management.
Experience and Certifications Required: Eight to ten years experience of accounting processes and Financial systems (including AMS, ERP, Payroll systems) required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (as demonstrated by prior work experience): * Knowledge of accounting principles in a financial software system, specifically how debits and credits operate, how transactions flow to their final destination and how this affects the end result on the financial statements. * Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change. * Ability to learn functionality of a variety of integrated software systems. * Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple projects at various stages of development using effective organization skills. * Interpersonal skills, customer service orientation and ability to work in a team environment. * Ability to define issues, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and apply to work environment. * Ability to effectively interact with others and work in a team environment and providing follow-up when needed. * Ability to lead people and foster collaborative skills and consensus building while operating in a fast-moving environment. * Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership, employees and/or vendors in a clear and precise manner. * Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) in the day-to-day essential duties of the job. * Ability to operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, fax machine, 10-key adding machine, and multiple line telephone. * Ability to provide service excellence by building relationships, being resourceful, responsive and respectful.
Essential Physical Requirements: * The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading. * Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
