The Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Group has an exciting opportunity for a new Financial Accounting Consultant. This group is focused on maintaining strong financial controls, providing accurate financial reporting, ensuring proper accounting via robust processes, and utilizing automated and complex tools.
This position will support the Commercial Banking accounting team, whose footprint spans the U.S., Canada, and India. This individual contributor will interact routinely with leaders across Finance, other support functions, and the lines of business. This consultant will learn how to support and lead within a large matrixed organization. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail who is ready to meet deadlines and learn in a constantly changing environment. The role will need to become familiar with Commercial Lending regulatory reporting processes and work to create efficient and effective reporting practices. Additionally, the member will also assist in supporting the remediation of existing and future identified regulatory reporting or Audit issues.
Duties may include:
Maintains and ensures appropriate controls surrounding Commercial Lending data submission processes to ensure accuracy and completeness by reviewing data from the general ledger, Commercial business unit reports and various financial systems
Preparing and/or reviewing financial and regulatory submissions
Provides functional advice or training to lower level accounting positions. Understands compliance and risk management requirements for supported area.
Understand who our key stakeholders across Commercial Lending
Contribute in performing a variety of analyses or projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems
Assist in issue remediation
Participate in attending to Audit requests, and regulatory remediation projects in accordance with the Company's Governance & Oversight Framework
Testing data as found in systems to verify it is consistent with established requirements or to investigate its suitability for its intended use

4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, financial reporting, accounting reporting or risk reporting demonstrated through work or military experience; or a BS/BA or higher in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, or Business and 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, financial reporting, accounting reporting or risk reporting demonstrated through work or military experience
A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting Ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization
