Reporting to Director of Practice Operations and Director of Revenue Cycle, the Associate Director of Finance will be responsible for the development and management of the financial and revenue analysis to evaluate operational needs and trends of Radiology outpatient off-site activities. Extract, analyze, and prepare data from the University???s financial system (ARC) and Reporting systems (Cognos, Epic) to create and update reports for financial analysis regarding revenues, expenses, and variance reporting.
Work closely with the Revenue Cycle team to establish standing and adhoc revenue cycle reports and with the divisions preparing revenue cycle accrual reports.
Produce quarterly productivity reports to evaluate operational activities and efficiencies.
Evaluate annual operating and payroll budgeting process for timely and accurate completion of operational budgets for outpatient activities.
Responsible for identifying appropriate staffing ratios, expenses, and volume projections associated with development of strategic business plans.
Responsible for evaluating quarterly budget analyses and make recommended changes to budget projections.
Review monthly P&Ls to explain financial performance against budgeted goals; identify and explain significant operational variances.
Analyze financial results of different business units and the overall financial position of the off-site outpatient operations.
Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc clinical reports as required to evaluate business needs.
Manages projects of a specialized nature or other specialized reporting, as mandated by finance or operational needs, audits or other compliance reviews.
Gathers information, conducts research, performs analysis and provides solutions to questions and issues as they arise.
Collaborate closely with various central finance offices within Radiology administration and the University to ensure compliance with all internal and external regulations, guidelines, and deadlines.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Bachelor???s degree or equivalent in education and years of experience plus 5 years of related experience.
Master???s degree preferred, preferably in healthcare or finance related field.
Superior financial analysis skills required, including the ability to prepare detailed financial reports that include qualitative discussions of financial drivers, budgets and variances, and forward-looking implications. Necessary experience includes budget and/or other financial analysis, such as interpretation of financial statements. Expert-level computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required, including in-depth knowledge of spreadsheet packages. Knowledge of accounting principles essential.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a well-developed knowledge of quantitative analysis capable of working with minimal oversight to solve a problem or meet a need. Ability to work through complex issues, elevating issues appropriately to directors and core administration team. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to work with complex financial models and be meticulous in quantitative detail.
