This position is responsible for supporting the Sales Region for general accounting functions, transactional processing, report creation and ad hoc analysis. This role will provide data to assist with financial planning, forecasting, accounting, internal controls, distributor bank reconciliations and analytics. Â Â The Finance Assistant must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization internally & externally.
Be an active participant in the division meetings to understand trends and anomalies for the states within the region
Create, review and process distributor credit requests and 3rd party vendor invoices for payment ensuring accuracy in the account coding and dollars submitted for payment.Â
Working with support from Sales Finance leads, post journal entries during month end close to capture correct expenses and liabilities associated with our local programming â variable price support and non-price spends
Responsible for verifying that the general ledger numbers (business units, object accounts) and the appropriate cost objects (1 & 2; brand & state respectively) are correct with their entries
Use SAP to track and report out on Non-Price programs
Ability to create ad hoc reporting on volume trend analysis, brand expense reviews, monthly forecast vs plan
Accountable for ensuring that data is accurate and complete in the Business Unitâs standard financial processes/controls (adherence to GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley) and are in place and properly utilized.Â
Assist with management of all distributor bank reconciliations, non-price tracking/analysis, monthly closing/reporting responsibilities
Participate in other business unit activities such as Sales & Distributor meetings, market & pricing surveys and account activations
Education/Experience - Bachelors degree in business, finance or accounting or equivalent experience.
Technical â Spreadsheet and PC proficiency (Windows, Word, Excel).Â Â
Professional â Active listener with excellent communication and interaction, both oral and written.Â Problem solving ability.Â Strong customer service orientation is required with ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines. Â Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.Â Requires one to be a team player with a positive attitude, highly motivated, a change oriented individual able to work with a variety of people at all levels; as well as, a self starter with the ability to work independently or in a team.Â
