We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Financial Analyst position to be based in one of our Washington, DC metro area offices with flexibility to work remotely on a regular basis. The candidate will analyze data, support financial planning, and generate financial reports. This position requires a detail-oriented, highly motivated candidate, with strong analytical and communication skills, demonstrated understanding of government contracting, understanding financial systems, and advanced MS Excel skills. The Financial Analyst will have direct visibility to the Controller and CFO. The following summary of responsibilities provides a general list of key functions, and other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
The selected candidate will support all aspects of AIR’s financial analysis and reporting processes, which include, but are not limited to the following:
Financial analyses and reporting essential for running the business.
Development and maintenance of annual operating budgets and forecasts.
Supporting the financial planning process at the departmental level, inclusive of budgets, re-forecasts, and capital planning.
Understand and analyze business units monthly/YTD financial results from plan and clearly articulate themes and performance drivers.
Ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects assisting management with business performance and strategic decisions.
Cash flow modeling and forecasting.
Improvement and/or development of applications for use in budgeting and reporting.
Supporting audits and/or other regulatory inquiries and deliverables.
Bachelor’s degree with a major in Business, Accounting or Finance.
A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience directly related to the job function with at least 1 year in government contracting.
Proficiency with analytic aspects of Excel and presentational aspects of Microsoft Office applications.
Highly analytical, critical thinker.
Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, preferred.
Confident and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple assignments.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.
