Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor & Controller, this position is responsible for the fiscal year closing of University's financial records, contact with external auditors, and the review or development of financial/budgetary analyses. Position directly supervises financial services functions responsible for the indirect cost rate calculation and negotiation, service center rate establishment, external reporting, university cost issues, unrelated business income tax, miscellaneous tax items, loan/ endowment/ plant fund/ fixed assets accounting and cash management/DAS interface .
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, auditing or closely related field plus 5 years of relevant professional business experience including accounting, auditing, preparation of financial statements and audit workpapers. Supervisory experience. Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and familiarity with OMB circulars, AICPA Audit Guide, GASB and federal cost accounting standards. Strong interpersonal skills for professional relationship management. Must have a CPA license.
Master's degree in accounting preferred. Accounting, budgeting and/or finance work experience in higher education. Knowledge of NE Board of Regents Bylaws, University policies and procedures
