This position leads the Brookline Housing Authority (BHA) Finance Department. The incumbent is responsible for directing internal and external financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, general accounting, investment and cash management policies, fixed assets, inventory, and budgets. The incumbent is responsible for developing accounting procedures that support the internal departments in their various program activities and service delivery. The position plays the lead role in directing the agency’s budgeting and financial performance measuring across all of its business lines as well as agency wide. This position supervises a team of other finance staff. All activities must support the Brookline Housing Authority (“BHA” or “Authority”) mission, strategic goals, and objectives.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be highly skilled in the usage of accounting, reporting, e-mail, internet, database, spreadsheet, and word processing software. Must be capable of developing financial forecasting and other financial models using software tools. Must be able to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, real estate, business, or a related field; and a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, investments, etc. with supervisory experience, preferably in a regulated real estate environment. CPA License preferred. Must have valid Massachusetts’s driver’s license and be insurable under BHA policies.

The BHA administers federal and state public housing programs, a federal Comprehensive Grant Program, a state formula funded capital grant program, and the CDBG funded BHA Public Housing Improvement Program.
