Work you'll do
Finance and Data Technicians will support Deloitte's Actuarial & Insurance Solutions (A&IS) Core team by helping clients optimize their current processes and operating model. Finance and Data Technician's job functions include the following, but not limited to:
â¢ Executing and improving processes to support actuarial and other insurance operations across financial reporting, data cleansing, data transformation, data analysis, and business modeling
â¢ Supporting the documentation of business requirements with respect to models, data, or process
â¢ Supporting model testing through reconciliation, unit testing, regression testing
â¢ Operating processes to produce data and results needed for analysis and reporting
â¢ Analyze and perform research and analysis to explain movement in financial results
â¢ Collaborating with A&IS Core team members to understand priorities and execute
â¢ Developing tools and materials that can be leveraged for future projects
â¢ Participating in practice development activities to enhance the capabilities and promote the culture of the USDC

â¢ Experience with organizing data, querying, and analyzing data through database/data management tools such as SQL, Access, Tableau, Excel/VBA
â¢ Experience performing statistical analysis using tools such as SAS, MATLAB, R, Python
â¢ Proficiency using computer software such as Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint; plus, a high level of general computer literacy and comfort with new tools and applications
â¢ Proven history of task execution, with timeliness and high quality
â¢ Superior research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
â¢ Ability to clearly document processes, work performed, support for decisions made
â¢ Analytical problem-solving skills including experience reconciling, trending, or analyzing system or spreadsheet output and explaining differences in results
â¢ Task and detail oriented; working well independently without continual oversight
â¢ Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective listening skills
â¢ Ability to execute on multiple engagements simultaneously
â¢ Team player who enjoys working with multiple teams
â¢ Enthusiasm for serving clients and an eye toward continuous improvement
â¢ Travel up to 20% annually (While 20% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
â¢ Must live near, or relocate to, Gilbert, AZ, Mechanicsburg, PA or Lake Mary, FL.
