Develop and maintain monthly financial statements for the College and the CBC Foundation. Administers, supervises, and is accountable for all functions of the Business Office and Auxiliary Services.
As a member of the President’s Cabinet, the VP of Finance & Business Operations is the College’s chief financial officer, providing financial leadership and collaborates to accomplish strategic priorities. The VP of Finance & Business Operations supervises all accounting and financial services functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and manages sound operating procedures to ensure compliance with college policies, state and federal regulations and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB);
Prepares the Annual Financial Report; Maintains a sound investment program for College funds;
Prepares revenue projections and analysis;
Leads and implements in the development of the annual budget process. Develops short and long-range budget projections;
Oversee preparation and administration of the College budget including all funding sources and finances of the Foundation;
Develops and maintains an efficient system to process payment of all College purchases. Develops a system that ensures payments are made to vendors in a timely and accurate fashion;
Conducts bi-weekly verification of payroll;
Prepare periodic financial analysis of operations in all aspects of the educational plan;
Develops a system that ensures all College receipts are properly recorded and accounted for;
Prepare and/or review accurate and timely monthly financial reports to the Board of Trustees;
Implement and maintain internal control procedures to ensure the safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial data;
Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reconciliation of payroll, debt service, and investments to the general ledger;
Oversee on-going capital asset inventories;
Monitor the expenditures of grant funds to ensure compliance with funding agencies, college policies and procedures;
Supervises the Inventory Specialist to ensures fixed assets area accounted for, recorded, maintained and disposed of as needed;
Manage the College’s cash flow strategies;
Direct participation in the College’s institutional effectiveness processes;
Train and develop staff in Coordinating Board and SACSCOC compliance, financial systems, software applications and services;
Review and authorize payment of the College’s financial obligations;
Perform other duties as assigned by the College President.
Will participate in Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP); College responsibilities such as Institutional Effectiveness Committee, SACS-COC accreditation, Task Force, etc.

Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting or Finance required. Five years of progressively increasing experience in the accounting and finance area, managing a staff with diverse responsibilities; an understanding of the community college philosophy. Travel required; valid Texas driver's license required.
Ability to effectively speak in public and present monthly financials to the Board of Trustees. Exceptional financial leader.
