The Assistant Director for Business and Finance provides direct financial and business support to assigned sports and units. This position will work closely with respective sports and units to manage business functions including procurement, accounts payable, contracts, university credit cards, budgets, payroll, and financial operations in Workday. This position is responsible for a range of support activities within the Athletic Business Office with a particular focus on medical claims, sports camps, and procurement and travel card management.
Medical claims responsibilities for this position include managing student-athlete medical services payments and record-keeping. Sports camps responsibilities include facilitating camp oversight committee, maintaining policies and procedures and coordinating training sessions, pre-camp requirements and camp reporting. Procurement and travel card management responsibilities include coordinating the Athletic Business Office administration of Athletic Department university credit cards to ensure compliance with all applicable University, NCAA, and SEC rules, policies, and procedures as well as serving as liaison with outside travel and the University Business Services Office staff.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Sports Management or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
At least three years progressive work experience in duties relevant to the position
Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Sports Management or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
Experience within a college or professional athletic business office
Experience in sport operations and/or program administration
Experience using Workday Finance system
