The Centre of Excellence (CoE) provides a service dedicated to enabling and serving Finance Business Partners, made up of three teams; The Planning and Analysis (P&A) team, the Reporting and Controls (R&C) team, and the Performance Improvement (PI) team.
This role is part of the Reporting and Controls team and reports directly into the Reporting Head of, or Senior Manager in Reporting & Controls.
This role will help nurture robust operational teams with a customer centric philosophy that provides control, challenge and insight in close conjunction with the Planning & Analysis team. It requires an experienced cost reporting & forecasting specialist within Finance.
To optimally deliver in this role, you'll build positive relationships within the teams that you support, and ensure your team's products are delivered effectively and efficiently anticipating customers' needs.
There is an expectation that the role will be flexible and work across the wider team, supporting other teams where demand requires.
Ideally, you'll be either a qualified accountant or qualified by experience.
What we want you to do!
Undertake all Reporting activities across the CoE including but not limited to:
The production of standard reporting and Management Information packs for both BAU & Investment cost base i.e. including but not limited to Flash, month end reporting, standard cost reporting, quarterly reporting and scoping new management reporting.
Undertake the Accounting & Control activities across the CoE including but not limited to:
Own and maintain the Capital Assessment Tool (CAT) including any updates to the Capitalisation policy and provide oversight to total consolidated position.
Capturing and collation of standard inputs to calculate & post journals and accruals & prepayments, and liaison with P&A team and FBPs for mentorship where needed to ensure the financial figures are accurate.
Carry out reconciliations, attestations, risk & audit (inc SoX) compliance activities etc. for both P&L and Balance sheet (incl. Fixed Assets), for review by the P&A team and then signoff by the FBP team.
Support the year end audit working closely with both Finance Risk and Controls, and colleagues involved in annual Fixed Assets & CAT attestation exercise.
Responsibility for ensuring compliance with Group Minimum Standards through establishment of consistent practices across GT and GCIO, and ongoing training of colleagues across Finance.
Ensure that all SLAs are tracked and met each month.
Continuously promote a culture of operational improvement within the team.
Actively assist and empower junior colleagues to assist in the creation of a robust and engaged team to achieve objectives and deliver above expectations.
Ability to drive continuous improvement by finding opportunities and implementing changes.
Review and oversight of junior colleagues output and deliverables, and timely escalation to appropriate management for issue resolution.

Represent Reporting Team across all key partners, including but not limited to the CoE teams, Business Partners teams and Group Finance Support Teams.
Build and maintain regular contact and strong working relationships with key partners.
