We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Regulatory Reporting Manager - Global Finance.
Reporting to the Head of Financial and Regulatory Reporting, the candidate will lead a team to ensure the submission of the HKMA regulatory reporting in accordance with the relevant requirements within the required deadlines
Lead a team to review and complete the HKMA banking returns for Hong Kong, region and overseas branches within the required deadlines
Ensure all relevant regulatory reporting is correct, complete and submitted on a timely basis
Address queries and information requests from stakeholders in a professional way. Work closely with different internal and external stakeholders, including Risk, IT, Business, internal and external auditors, regulators etc
Liaise as appropriate with all regulatory authorities, senior executives, internal and external auditors
Improve process, controls, basis of preparation and procedural manuals for existing HKMA returns and surveys
Develop and maintain good working relationship and dialogue with regulators as appropriate with regard to regulatory reporting and controls matters
Stay abreast with the changes of regulatory requirements and improve the efficiency in process, controls, basis of preparation and procedural manuals for existing HKMA returns and surveys
Review and comment on the new regulatory requirements and consultation papers and assess the impact from a regulatory reporting perspective
Ensure consistency across different sites within region in respect of interpretation of completion instructions and guidelines issued by the HKMA
Work with other stakeholders to achieve improvements of processes, controls, basis of preparation and procedural manuals
Support the Head of Financial and Regulatory Reporting to establish a business culture where risk is understood, owned and appropriately mitigated within the team
Support the Head of Financial and Regulatory Reporting to create an environment in which all team members are aware they can identity, raise and resolve all risk management, local regulatory and compliance issues
Maintain and develop the regulatory reporting infrastructure necessary to ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant internal policies and procedures and with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements as continued to evolve in the context of both Hong Kong and International
University degree or above and professionally qualified accountant with significant post-qualified experience in HKMA regulatory reporting within a sizeable financial institution
Experience in one of the Big 4 firms is preferable
Excellent knowledge of HKMA reporting requirements
Demonstrate change management skills, particularly those involving process re-engineering and system change and team management
Strong technical skills including a good current working knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements in the context of both Hong Kong and International
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to give presentations and briefings to senior management
Proven experience in regulatory engagement (HKMA) and senior stakeholder management
Proven leadership experience of medium to large sized team
Creative and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to analyze business transactions and identify key risk and mitigating controls, combined with a pragmatic approach to problem solving and the ability to work under pressure
