Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field. Three (3) years of full-time experience in finance or accounting. Proficiency in Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in a related field. Finance or accounting experience in Academic setting. Experience with grants and/or event budgets and financial management. Experience with departmental budgeting and management of multiple funding sources.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Finance and Budget Specialist will provide direct support to the Associate Director of Finance and Administration for the Stony Brook Cancer Center. The selected incumbent will be responsible for computing budgets and subsequent financial tracking and reconciliation of Stony Brook Cancer Center related Accounts.
- Prepare and complete budgets and subsequent financial tracking including IFR revenues, IDC allocations and pilot project funds.
- Establish new SBF and RF accounts and subsequent reconciliations.
- Large Grant budgeting and reconciliation.
- Assist with Clinical Trials billings by ensuring we are collecting full obligations on pharma trial budgets and follow up on research billing compliance.
- Prepare Stony Brook Cancer Center event budgeting and follow up on revenues and expenses.
- Prepare budgets and set up start-up package accounts for new recruits.
- Other duties as assigned by the AD for Finance & Administration.
