Collat School of Business - Finance Instructor - Accounting and Finance

Position Number: 82004 School/College: Collat School of Business Job Description: The Department of Accounting and Finance (ACFN) in the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks applicants for one full-time, nine-month finance instructor position beginning August 15, 2021. Finance position – instructor: Candidates must have earned a Master's Degree in Finance or MBA from an AACSB-accredited school, hold active professional certification (e.g., CFA, CFP), and have related experience. Evidence of prior excellence in teaching in higher education is required. Primary teaching assignments include Corporate Finance, Financial Institutions, Investments and/or Real Estate, and include management and delivery of both traditional classroom courses (day and evening) and online courses. Candidates should have a desire to work closely with students in various roles including as a faculty advisor of one of our thriving student organizations. The expected starting date of the appointment is August 15, 2021. Salary is competitive and benefits are excellent. The Accounting and Finance Department includes 17 faculty members and 7 full-time instructors, covering two majors and supporting both the MBA program and the business core. The finance program offers an undergraduate degree. Graduate-level finance courses are also taught in the MBA program. All degree programs are accredited by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Degree programs are offered on campus (day and evening classes) and online.
