Position Title: Director of Finance and Operations Reports To: Head of School
Job Description: The Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) reports directly to and serves as a strategic partner to the Head of School, is a member of the Leadership Team, and works closely with the Board of Trustees. Additionally, the DFO ensures implementation of procedures to attain long-term strategic goals and provides effective, innovative leadership.
Directs the day-to-day operation of the Business Office including - payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accounting functions, financial controls, generates reports to the Finance Committee(FC) and the Board of Directors(BoD), and generates fiscal year-end closings.
Advises on matters related to strategic and long-range financial planning, risk management
Represents the School to the external community in financial and related matters.
Provides financial services, accurate and timely financial reporting, financial audits, and compliance with applicable legal rules and regulations.
Works with the Head of School, FC, and BoD to develop and manage the annual budget and maintain rolling budget projections.
Makes a significant effort to recognize and implement operational efficiencies to support the continued growth of Centreville Layton School.
Maintains and oversees a strong team with outstanding levels of accuracy, responsiveness, quality, efficiency, and professionalism.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field from a fully accredited college or university.
Minimum of five years of experience managing accounting and finance functions at the controller or director level.
Experience in non-profit accounting preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must have the ability to understand and present materials and communicate with constituents and co-workers in a harmonious manner.
