Practice Management Administrator, Finance

Ballard Spahr LLP has an exciting opportunity for a Practice Management Administrator to provide administrative support to the Finance department’s Director of Practice Management with the daily business operations of the department and its practice groups across 15 offices. Responsibilities include budgeting and expense management; continuing education and core training; technological initiatives; and policy enforcement. The chosen individual will assist the Director of Practice Management with reviewing, researching and approving expenses, monitoring compliance with time entry policies, compilation of monthly and quarterly financial reports. Primary financial management responsibilities include assembling monthly metrics, reviewing and approving expenses; overseeing lawyer and paralegal timesheet policy compliance; and assisting with the review of aged receivables and unbilled time. Other responsibilities include scheduling and coordinating various department and practice group meetings, compiling and distributing meeting agendas and materials and maintaining department and practice group membership reports.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask and work in a deadline driven environment. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience in a law firm or professional services environment and proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel and Outlook). Professional demeanor, good judgment, understanding of need to exercise confidentially and discretion required, and the flexibility to periodically work beyond a standard business day, as applicable.
