Employment Type: Permanent Staff (SHRA) Vacancy ID: P012264 Salary Range: $60,603 - $70,000 Position Summary/Description: The Director of Finance administers and coordinates all accounting, budgeting, and post-award grant management activities for the School of Education, which includes multiple funding sources: state appropriations, state appropriated receipts, contracts and grants, F&A, E&T fees, foundation and other trust funds. Additionally, this position is responsible for facilities management and assisting as a backup for contract and grant proposal development and submission during peak volume submission times. The position provides leadership and direction to the finance staff responsible for the day-to-day operations with emphasis on providing a high level of customer service, implementing optimal processes, and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement. The individual in this position functions independently and is responsible for his/her daily routine and schedule. He/she meets with administrators, faculty, staff, students, auditors and donors as needed to assist with financial issues for the entire School of Education. The position supervises four full-time positions — two Accounting Technicians and a two Contracts and Grants Research Administrators. The Director of Finance's team is responsible for processing transactions, reconciliations, managerial reporting, contracts and grants administration and closeouts, as well as managing facilities management. The person in this position will work directly with his/her team as well as the Assistant Dean for Finance and Operations to insure the School's compliance with University, State, and Federal (where applicable) accounting and procurement policies and procedures and works closely with the Dean, Associate/Assistant Deans, Area Chairs and Directors. The position will be expected to develop positive working relationships within the School and across campus, particularly with University central offices. The position is fundamental in developing regular financial reporting for all funding sources and ensuring the School's operations continue to provide strong research administration services to support the growing research portfolios. Job duties include, but are not limited to: This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Finance and Operations. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
