Requisition Number: S_200576 Department: HAPPI Business Center-3027 Description of Work: Working both independently and as a member of the IANR Business Center Operations team, this position is responsible for the financial management of various funding sources associated with the areas that are supported by the Business Center. Work closely with administrators, faculty and staff to ensure proper accounting procedures and grant/contract regulations and deadlines are followed regarding each funding source. Responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and coordinating the pre- and post-award financial management activities of the grants/contract process for assigned individuals/programs supported by the Business Center. Pre-award activities include: consulting with PI's in development and preparation of proposals, including budget development, preparation and financial projections. Post-award activities include: monitoring and evaluating grant expenditures to ensure accuracy relative to budget, allowability and funding restrictions; monitoring further obligations with contracts; preparing and analyzing monthly financial and statistical reports. Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus three years' any combination of project accounting, general accounting or financial reporting experience required. Equivalent education/experience acceptable. Working knowledge of general accounting practices and financial reporting required. Understanding of large integrated financial management systems; and advanced skills in PC-based spreadsheet software programs are essential. Preferred Qualifications: Prefer project accounting experience; working knowledge of budgeting and personnel/payroll; working knowledge of UNL; working knowledge of SAP; skilled with PC-based database software programs; strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; detail oriented and accurate.
