We are a fast-growing technology firm based in Arlington, VA. You are an Accounting/Finance Manager with the experience and confidence to manage all aspects of the Finance/Accounting function looking for a firm that will allow you to own and manage the process.
You will be working with the founders and will provide tactical and strategic support in all aspects of accounting and finances. You have 7-10 years of accounting and financial management experience. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for entering transactions. You are the Accounting/Finance Department. Membership Association experience is a plus but by no means a must.
***This position is considered essential and requires an in-office presence. You will have a private office with appropriate safety and social distancing maintained. ***
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Directing all aspects of accounting and finance operations
Maintaining necessary accounting policies and systems
Entering transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting
Manage A/P and AR
Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
Ensuring a smooth audit process and maintaining internal controls, establishing, and maintaining immaculate record-keeping
Coordinating corporate tax reporting and preparation of tax returns with outside tax accountants
Assisting senior executives in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting and creating and maintaining budgeting tools
Complete semi-monthly payroll run
Manage employee time submission
Responsible for maintaining HR polices, employee files, and employee benefits
Perform office management tasks and act as the liaison with building management
The ideal candidate will. . .
… have 7 – 10 years of experience
… possess a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting or finance preferred
… have strong knowledge of corporate finance and other accounting theory, principles, and practices
… possess advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office, including heavy lifting in MS Excel.
… be proficient in processing payroll, preferably with ADP experience
… problem-solve and work independently
… demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
… be able to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse staff, colleagues, and clients.
… enjoy learning and actively working to expand your knowledge base and worldview (tech or otherwise)
