Vision Maker Media is looking for a professional, responsible for the direction and management of business operational and accounting financial systems that ensure legal and audit requirements are met and compliant, and that best practices of maximum efficiencies are obtained, including its programs and initiatives, grants and project administration. This position is responsible for financial leadership, management and procedures, accounts receivables and payables. Oversees and coordinates financial and contractual aspects of sales, acquisitions and marketing as well as daily office operations.
Works with and reports to the Executive Director. The Director of Accounting & Finance will gain broad and deep operational knowledge of VMM’s varied programs; provide effective leadership through active involvement in these programs and services; identify mechanisms for VMM to leverage cross-program strengths to maximize opportunities and mitigate challenges; and create and implement ongoing financial, accounting, business growth strategies and systems.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years' experience with any combination of accounting, grants/contracts, financial or business management equivalent education/experience will be considered. Strong communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Ability to be proficiently use Microsoft software, WordPress, and Adobe Creative Cloud. Knowledge of database and analytics software. Working knowledge of grants/contracts, accounting, budgeting, personnel and payroll practices.
Ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree- MPA or MBA preferred. Knowledge of Filemaker Pro 18, SalesForce and Tableau Reader. Experience in non-profit and/or knowledge of Public Broadcasting accounting principles and/or financial compliances. Experience in supervisory role. Knowledge of Native American cultures and systems and an ability to understand and translate these into operational procedures.
