The Director of Finance reports to the Head of School.
The Director of Finance will oversee the responsibilities of the business office. The Director of Finance reports to the Head of School and is a member of the school’s Administrative team. This is a 12-month position that follows the Academic Calendar during the school year with a modified schedule during the summer months.
Compensation is based on experience with benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Finance: Works with Head of School and the Board to stabilize and grow Radcliffe Creek School by formulating strategies, annual budget, and revenue targets
Reviews accounts and investigation of variances then setting recovery plans.
Provides monthly updates to the Board and work in conjunction with the Head of School and the Finance Committee to analyze financial trends,
Prepares the yearly operating budget for Board approval. This will be accomplished in concert with the Head of School and the Finance Committee
Establishes a plan and schedule for the preparation of the annual budget that will permit the setting of the succeeding year’s tuition at a Board of Trustees meeting early in the calendar year.
Maintains communication with investment firms and tracks all school investments.
Uses standard accounting and bookkeeping procedures for not for profit accounting, to keep an accurate continuous record of the cash and financial position of the school and manage the financial operation of the school so that the institution remains financially stable.
Prepares a monthly operating statement for the Head of School and the Board of Trustees.
Provides a monthly report of expenditures for use of each individual budget center within the school.
Reviews and oversees all state and federal filings and prompt payment to state and federal agencies.
Oversees all school purchasing, payables, and receivables (including those that are past due).
Manages input to payroll processes to ensure accuracy to approved compensation levels, deductions, etc., and prompt reporting and payment to state and federal agencies.
Provides for the securing of an annual audit of the school’s statement.
Prepares the financial statement and notes to financial statements for the auditors and board.
Develops/edits accounting policies and procedures in preparation for the audit.
Works with auditors during the year and throughout the audit process.
Works in conjunction with the Finance Committee to oversee all financial investments
Oversees all school purchasing, banking activities, payroll, and benefits programs.
Prepares and expedites all bank deposits.
Establishes maintains and executes ACH customer payments.
Conducts monthly bank reconciliation.
Helps prepare the policies and procedures as it relates to internal control over accounting and financial reporting
Admissions and Enrollment:
Assists the Head of School and the Financial Aid Committee with family reports from School and Student Services regarding financial assistance information
Consults with the Head of School on re-enrollment contracts and financial assistance
Arranges invoicing of tuition contracts that will be serviced by the school. Enter these in the accounting system.
Oversees and manages the collection of tuition directly from parents.
Provides Radcliffe employee information packets to all new hires: fingerprinting, background check, verification of citizen status, selection or waiver of benefits and all tax and deduction paperwork.
Maintains any employee changes with benefits, pay, deductions, etc throughout their employment.
Assists the Head of School with decisions regarding salaries and benefits for all personnel.
Manages risk at the school to ensure the safety of personnel and students in their use of the facilities and work with the Head of School and Finance Committee of the Board to maintain appropriate levels of insurance to protect and to cover the liability of the school.
Maintains confidential and up-to-date Employee Files on each individual Radcliffe employee.
Assists with HR issues that arise, including but not limited to; workmans comp, terminations, payroll questions, etc.
Oversees and administers the school’s benefits programs. Prior approval will be required from the Finance Committee of the Board and the Head of School of the School.
Manages employee leave system.
Oversees TIAA-CREF retirement funds and health savings accounts.
Schedules annual meeting for Health Insurance, School Insurance; Liability on Property,Supplemental Insurance, TIAA-CREF.
In collaboration with the Advancement staff, facilitates the accurate accounting and documentation of all gifts and grants made to the school.
Oversees the accurate accounting and depositing of all donations to the School.
Other: Support the school and its leadership
Maintains school insurance policies.
Maintains and tracks rental payments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
