Position Summary Reporting to the Associate Director for Finance, the incumbent will provide a wide range of financial analysis and operational support to the finance unit, Biomarkers Core Lab, the Clinical Research Resource, and Bionutrition Lab of the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research.
Responsibilities - Prepare and submit cost analysis, rate applications, project cost estimates for end users, as well as manage cost recovery and financial project management for the Biomarkers Core Lab, Clinical Research Resource, and the Bionutrition Lab.
- Serves as the lead financial contact for Core users and faculty/staff across campus.
- Invoice and collections across various systems.
- Develop, monitor, and reconcile all Core research budgets and revenue/expense accounting systems, as well as provide account and variance analysis.
- Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager to assist in budget analysis, prepare fiscal budgets, project year end spending of core resources, and monitor grant activity.
- Prepare reports and materials, analyze specific issues, respond to budget requests, suggest policy changes, assist in the development and submission of grant proposals.
- Performs additional special projects and duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus two years of related experience. Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel and Word).
Preferred Qualifications Strong analytic skills, accuracy, and attention to detail required. The position calls for the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines, function independently, and to exercise discretion. Must possess the ability to move from one project to another with ease. Requires the ability to complete assignments and tasks independently as well as work effectively as part of a team at various levels. Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills required. Must exhibit the ability to exercise independent judgment in responding to inquiries and developing correspondence.
