We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Manager, Insurance Finance and Accounting Policy - Global Finance
The role holder will be a member of the Regulatory Reporting team, and will have frequent interaction with the Chief Finance Officer and other members of business management across various functions
The role holder is responsible for a portfolio of deliverables relating to regulatory, statutory reporting across the entities within the INHK group, including Group reporting, local statutory reporting, and regulatory reporting primarily Hong Kong Insurance Authority, the Bermudian Monetary Authority and the Monetary Authority of Macau. Tax returns and other similar reporting also falls within the remit of the Regulatory Reporting team, supported by subject matter experts across HSBC
Support the preparation of governance papers including to the entity Board, Audit and Risk committees and Executive Committee where required
The role holder will bring, and build on, an existing knowledge financial reporting and consolidation processes
Dealing with stakeholders both within the Finance function and the wider business
Reviewing current reporting practice and procedures, identifying areas for continuous improvement, and then facilitating change including working closely with the business including Investment, Products and Distribution and other teams where required. There will also be an involvement with technologically driven finance transformation initiatives
Providing expertise input to the IFRS 17 programme, particularly on financial reporting processes
Support the offshore Finance Operations team delivering the core reporting processes
Experience and expertise in the management of financial and regulatory reporting processes.
Knowledge and understanding of major technical components of the insurance financial statements and their dynamics will be highly advantageous, ideally combined with a familiarity with a range of life insurance products and accounting frameworks, including embedded value measures.
Exposure to the real estate industry and related regulatory or statutory reporting matters would be advantageous.
Experience from partnering closely with finance, wider business stakeholders.
Proven team working skills, ideally in an international environment.
Strong communication skills including written English, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, and conflicting priorities.
Strong sense of risk management and controls.
A mind set of continuous improvement and aiming for excellence.
