Job Description Approve on accounting and management reports for submission to SFC (FRR Calculations), HO and local management.
Oversee the finance processes for reporting, reconciliation, balance sheet and profit and loss statement; facilitate the resolution of ad-hoc operational issues with colleagues from other functions within the organization
Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place. Investigate possible efficiencies and automations.
Review and analyze developments in the monthly management account and make enquiries about the circumstances in which the variances arise; initiate analysis studies, wherever necessary, on reported problems.
Capital forecast and scenario analysis based on SFC FRR rules
In depth knowledge of the financials that links back to the business activities.
Respond to information needs of management and co-ordinate finance related projects to meet new accounting and business requirements.
Work closely with IT personnel to ensure that the MIS infrastructure stays relevant and is able to provide complete and reliable information to support management review of the business.
Work closely with business to prepare annual budget and long term strategic plans for the organization.
Determine accounting implications of new products and participate in the acceptance process; implement accounting scheme for new products.
Ensure smooth and effective management of the finance in Hong Kong which include reviewing and streamlining current processes and maintaining sound financial controls.
Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to the finance staff in Hong Kong as well as across the organization.
Assist to implement standardized accounting methodologies and practices, wherever applicable, that is aligned with the Asia Pacific region and in accordance to HO policies.
Liaise with external auditors, tax agents and SFC officers on various matters.
Assists the Regional Clearing CFO on ad-hoc queries and other assignments.
A member of the local Management Team and member of various local committees.
The Successful Applicant
Minimum 10 years in financial and/or banking sector,
Understand the various business activities and products, including the securities and futures license requirements.
Experience in SFC and/or HKMA reporting and in depth knowledge of the SFC and/or HKMA regulations.
