The above role is a key enabler within the Novartis US Treasury team in East Hanover. It focuses on key cash management and banking-related accountabilities, which are mission critical for the team, and has to be completed with full accuracy within specified timelines. The role provides an opportunity to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders. It provides a sound platform to develop overall Treasury expertise within one of the well-respected pharmaceutical multinational companies.
Consolidate US cash forecast and manage daily cash position to target levels established by management
Ensure completeness of relevant data in TMS and complete daily reconciliation
Prepare standard Treasury reporting in a consistent and timely manner
Maintain and support TMS implementation for US cash flow forecasting process to support liquidity management objectives
Ensure that NVS Group workflows are compliant and establish necessary compliance controls related to NFCM matrix and TCM workflows
Research and resolve treasury-related issues with internal and external stakeholders
Fully competent in backing-up other mission critical, daily treasury/cash management functions (e.g. CP programs, payments, etc.)
Plan and execute borrowing and investment transactions
Obtain best market price for trades, commensurate with Novartis’ credit ratings
Maintain and optimize TM and EB systems
Maintain and review bank signatories and periodically audit bank compensation
Ensure compliant documentation for all external and internal agreements and contracts
Support key projects, e.g. TMS implementation.

US cash management bank balances are consistently managed to near zero
Funds transfers are accurate and timely executed
Ability to correct systems issues in a timely manner
Standard reports are delivered on time and with high quality
No observations in NFCM matrix review
Funding completed at best market price, commensurate with Novartis’ credit ratings compared to the benchmark
Ensure that cash management and Treasury transactions are booked and reported in a timely and accurate manner
Accuracy on cash flow forecasts
Timely updates of US bank signatories
Fee review and actions taken.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Minimum education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Economics related field and Association for Financial Professionals Certified Treasury Professional or Association of Corporate Treasurers Certificate in International Cash Management or equivalent treasury management designation
Desirable education: Master’s Degree in Finance/Economics related field and Association for Financial Professionals Certified Treasury Professional or Association of Corporate Treasurers Certificate in International Cash Management or equivalent treasury management designation
Work Experience: 5+ years of relevant US Treasury & cash management experience in progressively responsible roles. Overall, 8+ years of experience in finance related fields.
Solid experience in all aspects of cash management & corporate banking
Solid experience with TMS and electronic banking platforms
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Basic SAP knowledge, preferred CM module
Expert in banking contract management
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Good analytical skills and understanding of complex situations
