The Financials Analyst participates as a highly skilled team member critical to the implementation and ongoing support of the Workday Financials system from the business perspective. This includes application support, upgrade management, user training and support, and establishing related practices and procedures to improve the accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency of related processes. The analyst implements process improvements to increase productivity and use of Finance systems and workflow processes, and generally conducts projects and tasks independently or participates as a team member for major, complex, or international undertakings. He or she may coach and oversee the work of other specialists.

Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
Evaluates Compassion organization, processes, or initiatives by organizing business needs, reviewing, considering, and/or defining the ministry's policies and approaches, standardizing work flows, policies, and procedures, interpreting business rules and requirements, and improving the quality of the services being delivered.
Drafts business cases, eliciting requirements from stakeholders, studying organization issues, translating and simplifying requirements, managing communications, and producing formal documentation.
Ensures, through scheduled testing and maintenance, that Finance information systems are functioning properly for daily operational use including user administration, security, data integrity and reporting.
Develops robust, complex reports, anticipating user needs or responding to requests and using system reporting capability, as well as MS Excel and other reporting tools.
Creates and maintains processes and procedures compatible with Information Technology standards and requirements to support Finance technology applications including but not limited to user training, system recommendations, data integrity, data archiving, data security and user access.
Collaborates with Information Technology to meet Finance needs to ensure consistency and understanding of policies and directives while ensuring Finance systems are compliant with internal and external service level agreements and federally mandated regulations.
Responds to and resolves complex system issues.
Develops, implements, and checks, processes and quality assurance measures to ensure outstanding accuracy of all Finance data.
Plans, monitors and manages his or her own projects from initiation through completion. This includes developing assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project. Further, the incumbent provides for progress reporting, troubleshooting and people management, to include organizing and directing team members, and ensuring that materials and equipment resources are delivered on time.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline
Seven years' professional experience working in accounting and accounting/ERP systems, ideally implementing large scale ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, SAP) from the business side or as a consultant.
Strong knowledge of accounting and related business processes (e.g., general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, expense reporting, financial reporting)
CPA a plus
