One of the oldest economic research organizations in the United States, the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) was founded in 1933 to conduct scientific research into the wide range of economic, social, and monetary developments that had contributed to the catastrophic economic contraction of the Great Depression. Operating on a beautiful 110-acre campus in the southern Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, AIER educates Americans on the value of personal freedom, free enterprise, property rights, limited government and sound money. Our ongoing scientific research demonstrates the importance of these principles in advancing peace, prosperity and human progress.
